National Committee on Pharmacy Benefits and Specialty Medicine

The National Committee on Pharmacy Benefits and Specialty Medicine (PBSM) was established in 2001 to provide Business Group members with information, best practices and technology solutions related to pharmacy benefits that target cost control and better patient management. The ultimate goal of the PBSM Committee is to support the sustainability of employer-sponsored prescription drug benefits. PBSM’s diverse membership represents the various perspectives of the pharmaceutical system. As such, the Committee is a robust forum for information-sharing and peer benchmarking that leads to some of the most innovative pharmacy benefit solutions in the industry. Members include representatives from the following stakeholders:

  • Employee Benefit Managers
  • Pharmaceutical Benefit Managers (PBMs)
  • Pharmaceutical Manufacturers
  • Genetic/genomic diagnostic test manufacturers
  • Health Plans
